Updating a layer

When a newer version of a shapefile becomes available, the user can update it to the server by using the update tool.
 
Please note: 
There are three conditions for updating a shapefile. 
  • The file structure should be the same as the old version,
  • The field/column descriptions should match the old version.  Additional new ones can be added.
  • The file type (e.g. line, point) should be the same
 
The user can access the update tool  by right-clicking on the old version in the list of layers and select the "Update Data from Shapefile".
The old version will be replace by the new version.
